The best part of living in North America is being able to enjoy the great outdoors. What better way to enjoy a warm Canadian summer then under the safety of a personally designed Palapa Umbrella.

Our founder, Norm, knew exactly when he saw this idea on a vacation in Mexico that he had to find a way to bring it home to be able to share the experience of being under such a beautful piece of art. Norm did understand that he couldnt just fold up this amazingly crafted Palapa and put it in his suitcase but he did have an even better idea.

With more than 30 years experience as a coveted craftsman he decided to build one of his very own for his family in his backyard in Canada. Not only did his family love it but as more people in the community caught wind of this Palapa umbrella he knew there was a market for it.

Not long after, he started curating hand picked lumber, custom speciality machines and a few handy helpers. And just like that, the first Palapa Canada Manufacturing Center was created.

Palapa Canada is proud to be able to bring a product to market made from using as much reclaimable – reusable and or recyclable material to lower the cost of the product but not lesson the quality. Most of all reducing the impact on our landfills and the environment.

We as Palapa Canada are also engaged in the supporting of the reforestation and contribution to planting new seedlings for the future to come.

Contribution Is Key

Because we use mostly natural material, we had to find a way to salvage our so called “scraps”. Thus forth, the bark stripped from poles and pickets that your Palapa frame is made from is either saved for your existing landscape or donated to use in other ways. Sticking with our delivers made only on Fridays cuts our emissions down, as we are not making deliveries for every order. We are currently looking to outsource local Canadian companies to make bulk orders on materials as this will also lower our environmental foot print.
